Practical Machine Learning - Handwritten Number Recognition on Android

by Kyle Smaagard | at MinneBar 12 | 9:25 – 10:15 in Zeke Landres | View Schedule

We'll do the following:

  • A quick primer on multi-class classification machine learning
  • How multi-class classification applies to handwriting recognition
  • A quick dive into a working Android app that implements a a handwritten number recognizer

Although math is involved, don't let it scare you, we'll keep it fairly high level. The goal is to demonstrate how surprisingly easy it is to implement machine learning concepts!
