Enabling Disruptive Thinking with Generative Intelligence
by David Quimby | at Minnebar 19
Your value proposition is the beating heart of your business opportunity -- it connects your unique capabilities with the unique needs of your customers. Identifying and resolving opposing forces is a uniquely powerful method for developing a compelling value proposition that engages your customers and defeats your competitors. Opposing forces act as a "crucible" to create previously un-seen value and satisfy previously un-met needs. The most elusive aspect of solving the creative tension between a set of opposing forces isn't actually solving the contradiction -- it's identifying and defining the opposing forces. Many contradictions are "hidden in plain sight" -- because they are too subtle to be seen or, more typically, because we've become conditioned to accepting the creative tension.
I solved a contradiction... and the solution resulted in a patented invention with significant application in large-scale e-commerce. I eventually discovered that a systematic method was underlying the identification and resolution of the contradiction. I've codified the method ("Matrix Morphology") and I've trained a custom GPT ("Matrix Mentor") to practice it. I'll introduce you to my adventures in Matrix Morphology... and I'll share Matrix Mentor so that you can explore this approach to using AI for creative thinking and problem solving in your unique context.
David Quimby
I practice systematic innovation, experimental design, and technology forecasting at Innovation Radiation. I'm a patented inventor in Web architecture and a published author in technical and social innovation. I advised an array of manufacturing and service industries on emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence as a technology analyst at Stanford Research Institute. I've intentionally wandered, explored, and discovered on six continents... I've climbed Mount Whitney; I've done trekking in Thailand, a photographic safari in Kenya, and sea kayaking in Alaska; I've traversed the U.S. and Canada by motorcycle.
