💾 Why You Should De-Google Your Online Data and Start Self Hosting 🌥️

by Chris Wodicka | at Minnebar 18 | 9:25 – 10:10 in Theater | View Schedule

Your online data is at peril, subject to the whims of big tech! Where does your personal cloud data live, who has access to it, is it safe, and what is it being used for? These are all very important questions we should be asking ourselves in an increasingly online world. What if I told you that you could take back control of your data into your own hands? Better yet, you don’t need to be a tech wizard or development genius to figure it out; heck, I’m a UX designer!

In this session we’ll cover what some of those perils are, what some of the risks are that are posed by relying too heavily on cloud-based services, and tell you how to get started with self hosting and why you should give it a shot.

By day I'm a UX/UI Designer at Livefront where I get to work on cool mobile apps and websites. By night I love to tinker with my home server, shoot and develop film photography, and hang around various NE dive bars.
