Late and Overbudget: Why Projects Always* Fail

by Phil Grey | at Minnebar spring 2020 (canceled)

There are systemic problems in how we approach planning and doing work for others.

Despite our best intentions, we've all been a part of projects that were late, overbudget, or (usually) both. Something isn't working, so let's talk about it.

Makers. We're making promises that we won't keep. We're losing trust in our word. We're not getting paid for all the work we do.

Clients. We're getting burned, over and over. We're missing important deadlines. We're paying for the wrong things.

We'll set the table for a conversation to find solutions to these problems.

Part strategic problem solving and part group therapy, this session will facilitate conversation to find alternatives to what we're currently doing. You will leave this session with a buffet of ideas that will ultimately create better expectations, communication, and transparency between makers and clients.
